Curling in Arcola dates back to 1901 when the first skating and curling rink was built. September 27th, 2001 saw the destruction of the 4rth combined rink that had been built in 1947.
With insurance money, major fundraising, and volunteer labour a new combined facility was constructed with the first curling taking place on the Boxing Day Spiel of 2004. The two rinks connnected to Prairie Place complex provide wonderful facilities. The curling rink has 3 sheets of very fine ice, good lighting and sound, and a pleasant spacious lobby which can be used to host events. For fans there are closed circuit tvs to monitor the action at the far end of the ice.
